Worship Services
At WRBC we are vitally commited to having inspiring worship as we celebrate who God is and what He has done. Each Sunday we have a blended worship of hymns and choruses in which we seek to glorify God and exalt Jesus Christ. Our worship involves a variety of expressions including worship leaders, choir, youth night, soloists, instrumentalists, and congregational singing. Each year our Children's Choir and Adult Choir lead the congregation in worship concerts.
Pastor David has just started a new series in the morning worship service entitled, "Favorite verses of West Rockport Baptist Church." Pastor David has also started a new series for the evening worship service. It is entitled, "Counseling Issues, Matters of the Heart."
You can listen to these sermons, under the heading of "sermons" on this website. Also, the services are broadcast on Rockland's channel 7 daily at 1 am, 8 am, and 4 pm.
Prayer and Praise
As we are committed to glorify God in all our ministries, we take seriously the biblical pattern of meeting regularly to pray. Prayer is the backbone of faithful and effective ministry. In light of this, each Wednesday night we meet together to worship, share testimonies, study the Scriptures, and above all, pray. We pray for the needs of one another, the church, the community and God's work around the world.

Olympians Grades: 1-6
Our goal is to provide elementary students a vehicle for study, meditation, and instruction from the Word of God. As we train children to accurately handle Scripture, Christian obedience will become a part of their lives and they will be equipped for service.
Early Learners (Gopher Buddies) Ages: 4-6
Believing that the Bible is true and relevant for children, we endeavor to lead each child to an understanding of foundational scriptural truths. The weekly Bible study, combined with parental interaction at home, will affect changes in the character and the
conduct of each child.
Coming Events:
Word of Life FASCAR March 6, from 1-4 pm here at WRBC with WOL's Eric Brown.
Nursery
We have a nursery that is available for infants up through age 3. There are different rooms for different ages. There is a crib room for the infants and a playroom for the older children. At all times,we aim for at least one adult with a helper to take care of the children. All staff must fill out an application to work in the nursery. Only approved, screened staff can work in the nursery. We have nursery for both our morning and evening worship services.
Sunday School (children/teens)
We have a Sunday school class for every age from infant to adult. The Sunday school program starts at 9:30 am and goes to 10:25 am.
Please stop by to learn and fellowship with us. It is our prayer that you will feel welcome and leave knowing more about God.
Sunday School (adults)
There are at least 2 Sunday School classes offered to adults each quarter.
The two classes being offered this winter, starting February 7th are, "The Life of Abraham," which will meet in the Fellowship Hall, ( in the lower level of the church) and "The Book of Ezekiel" which will be meeting in the Ward Room.
Men's Ministry and Breakfast
A Men’s Breakfast is held the second Saturday of the month at 7 am in Fellowship Hall. The breakfast is free and any male young or old may attend. Church membership is not required. Each month one of the men shares his testimony as an encouragement to others. Come join us for a great time of fellowship.
The Senior Men’s Breakfast is held the third Thursday of the month and meets at the the Offshore Restaurant at 9 am. Church membership is not required. This breakfast is for retired men for the purpose of fellowship. Each man is responsible for the cost of his own meal. Come join the senior men of the church.
Retired Adult Ministry (RAMS)
Our Retired Adult Ministry is for the seniors in our church. The second Friday of every month they gather together for a luncheon at 12:00 noon, in our Fellowship Hall. It is a time of good food and Christian fellowship. Those who come share laughs, reminisce and enjoy their time with each other. Those who would love to come but are confined to their home still get to share in the meal and fellowship with the person who brings them their meal. The RAMS ministry is one that also reaches out to those retirees who are confined to their home for one reason or another. Whether you are at the giving end or the receiving end of the meal, there is joy to be had by all!
Guest speakers come in and share with our "RAMS" on subjects that are sure to be of interest. Once a year there is a "Mystery Fall Foliage Trip" where the RAMS get on a coach bus, not knowing where it is headed until they get there. They enjoy viewing the fall colors along the way and then they stop for lunch. Also, once a year they are treated to a "surf and turf" meal in the late summer.
This is a group where Christian comaraderie is apparent and where laughter and joy are abundant.
Women's Ministry
The Mission of the WRBC Women’s Ministry is to help women grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ through Bible study, fellowship and outreach. During the fall and spring we offer two different Bible studies, one on Monday evenings and the other on Tuesday mornings. In the summer, we organize a garden tour and a social event, both of which are open to all ladies. The Christmas Candlelight Dessert night, (early December) and the Mother/Daughter/Friend banquet, (every other year) are outreach events. Women are encouraged to invite their unchurched friends and family to attend.
Evangelism
West Rockport Baptist Church is passionate about sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ commanded us to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). To help prepare our congregation to fulfill this command, we offer a course called Evangelism Explosion.
Evangelism Explosion is a ministry that trains people how to share their faith in Christ and how to bring people from unbelief to belief. It utilizes a variety of components including prayer, actual on-the-job training where the experienced lead the inexperienced, and the principle of spiritual multiplication.
“Multiplication” is the key component—not just winning people to the Lord one-by-one (addition) - but training those won to the Lord to win, and then train others. In the Book of Acts we read that the disciples “multiplied” and “multiplied exceedingly.” This shift from addition to spiritual multiplication offers the one real hope of sharing the gospel with a world population that is itself continually multiplying.
On-the-job training is another vital ingredient. By actually going out with experienced trainers in real life witnessing situations, people learn how to share their faith. Much like learning to fly an airplane would be impossible without actually getting in the cockpit, learning how to evangelize is difficult without leaving the confines of a classroom.
By learning small parts of the gospel each week, including Bible verses and illustrations, people incrementally grasp a gospel tool that becomes a lifelong tool for outreach.
Normally Evangelism Explosion is offered in two semesters, April – June, and July – September.
